IT Support
Remote help for your everyday tech.
Networking hiccups, backups, email, and the "can you just make this work?" questions — handled remotely where possible, or as a drop-off when hardware needs hands on it. No on-site visits, ever.
Most tech problems for homes and small offices aren’t exotic — a router that needs a real fix instead of a reboot, a backup that was never actually tested, a new laptop that needs the old one’s files, or an inbox that stopped syncing. I diagnose the real cause and explain it in plain English, either through a secure remote session or, when hardware needs to be physically worked on, as a drop-off — never an on-site visit.
What’s included
- Remote troubleshooting — software, accounts, settings, slow networks
- New-device setup and data migration (remote or drop-off)
- Wi-Fi and router/modem configuration — router itself is a drop-off
- Backups set up and verified remotely — not just switched on
- Email, account, and software setup and repair
- Plain-English explanations, not upsells
Remote first, drop-off for hardware
Anything that lives in software — accounts, settings, backups, slow performance, a misbehaving app — is usually solvable through a secure remote session, often the same visit. Anything that requires physically touching a piece of hardware — a router that needs to be reset and reconfigured, a failing drive, a device that won’t power on — is handled as a drop-off. There are no on-site or in-home visits under any circumstances; that’s not a service offered here.
This is a one-person hobby and second job, done evenings and weekends by arrangement — not a staffed help desk or a managed-IT contract. If your setup needs more ongoing attention than that fits, I’ll say so honestly rather than oversell what this can cover.
Pricing & policy, honestly
Remote sessions and drop-off work are quoted up front before anything starts, and no payment is taken until the work is done. This is a one-person hobby and second job — not insured, not a licensed contractor, and any parts or hardware needed are ordered and supplied by you.
Questions
Do you come to my house or office to set things up?
No. There are no on-site or in-home visits, ever. Software, account, and network-configuration problems are handled remotely; anything that needs hands on hardware is drop-off.
What can actually be fixed remotely?
A lot — email and account setup, backup configuration and verification, slow-network troubleshooting, software problems, driver issues, and most “why won’t this work” questions, through a secure remote session.
My router or modem needs to be replaced or reconfigured — can you help?
Bring it (and any related hardware) to me as a drop-off, and I’ll configure or troubleshoot it there. I don’t install networking equipment on-site.
Do you offer an ongoing monthly support plan?
No formal managed-IT contract — this is a one-person hobby and second job, done evenings and weekends by arrangement, not a staffed help desk. Call as issues come up and I’ll help if I can take it on.
Is there a diagnostic fee?
Ask when you call — the current diagnostic-fee policy, if any, is confirmed up front before any work begins, and no payment is ever taken up front regardless.
Do you help with backups?
Yes, remotely — I’ll help you set one up and talk through verifying it actually restores. A backup that’s never been tested with a real restore is a guess, not a backup.
Do you supply any hardware?
No. You order and supply any hardware or parts yourself; I don’t source or sell equipment.
